Sleep in the heart of the Cuillin
Drift off beneath the watchful peaks of the Cuillin Mountains in one of Sligachan Hotel’s 21 comfortable bedrooms. Whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, or with family, you’ll find a warm Highland welcome and a room to suit your stay. Choose from single, twin, double, superior double, or family rooms – each with an ensuite bathroom and modern amenities for a restful night’s sleep. Every room comes with a TV, hairdryer, and kettle, while family rooms and suites also include a coffee machine.
Guests enjoy complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, including all bedrooms and public areas. Please note: mobile signal (3G/4G) is available in some areas of the hotel, though coverage may vary depending on your network provider.
Sligachan Hotel welcomes well-behaved dogs in selected rooms, with a £35 charge per stay.
Pinnacle Suite
Spacious and inviting, the Pinnacle Suite is ideal for family stays, comfortably sleeping up to six guests. It features a super king-size bed, a double sofa bed, and two sofa chairs that convert into single beds.

Simple, comfortable, and well-equipped, our Standard Double offers a cosy retreat for two. Featuring a double bed and all the essentials for a relaxing stay.

Home to an impressive collection of over 400 whiskies, Seumas’ Bar is proud to be a finalist for SLTN Whisky Bar of the Year 2025. Our menu is packed with comforting, flavourful dishes and ever-changing daily specials — each inspired by the land, sea, and air that make Skye so special.

The Sligachan Old Bridge
The Sligachan Old Bridge provides a stunning viewpoint of the Red and Black Cuillin mountains, divided by the heather-covered moorland of Sligachan Glen. From here, crystal-clear rivers and burns weave through the landscape, offering a truly iconic and dramatic scene that captures the wild beauty of Skye.
Old Man of Storr
The Old Man of Storr, standing proudly on the Trotternish Ridge, is one of Skye’s most iconic landmarks and its most popular walk. This 55-metre-high pinnacle of ancient basalt is the striking remnant of a 2,800-million-year-old volcanic plug. Towering above sweeping landscapes, it offers a breathtaking and unforgettable scene that captures the mystical spirit of the Isle of Skye.
Climb the Cuillin Mountains
Two Cuillin ranges dominate the landscape on Skye: the Black Cuillin and the Red Cuillin separated by Glen Sligachan. The iconic ridge of the Black Cuillin is the UK’s most challenging mountain range. Over 11 kilometres long and above 3,000 feet in places, the ridge contains 11 Munros and 16 other summits.
The Sligachan Waterfalls
The Sligachan Waterfalls, located on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, are a stunning natural feature set against the dramatic backdrop of the Cuillin Mountains. These falls are not particularly large, but their beauty lies in the way the water cascades over the rocky terrain, creating a series of small, elegant waterfalls.
The Fairy Pools
The Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye are a collection of clear, blue-green pools created by the River Brittle as it flows down from the Black Cuillin Mountains. Set in the striking landscape of Glen Brittle, these pools are famous for their beauty, with water so clear you can see the colorful stones at the bottom.
Dunvegan Castle & Gardens
Any visit to the Isle of Skye is incomplete without enjoying the wealth of history and clan legend on offer at award-winning 5* Dunvegan Castle & Gardens. Sir Reginald MacLeod (27th Chief) was the first Chief to open Dunvegan to the public in 1933 for charitable purposes two days a week.
Town of Portree
Portree, the Isle of Skye’s vibrant capital, is known for its colourful harbour and stunning coastal setting. Nestled among hills and cliffs, this lively town blends natural beauty with Highland charm. Fishing boats, shops, and cafes line the waterfront, making it a perfect base for exploring the island.
Talisker Distillery
Set on the shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, Talisker is the Isle of Skye’s oldest working distillery. Founded in 1830, it produces one of Scotland’s most distinctive single malt whiskies, known for its smoky character and sea-salt edge. A tour offers a glimpse into the craft of whisky-making, with tastings to enjoy along the way.
Elgol & Loch Coruisk
A journey to Elgol reveals one of Skye’s most breathtaking coastlines, with dramatic views across the sea to the Cuillin mountains. From the harbour, boat trips venture to the legendary Loch Coruisk, a hidden gem nestled among jagged peaks. Wildlife is plentiful, with seals basking on rocks and the chance to spot dolphins and sea eagles along the way.
Collie-Mackenzie Monument
The Collie MacKenzie Monument stands above Sligachan, honouring two of Scotland’s greatest climbers, Professor Norman Collie and John MacKenzie. Overlooking the Cuillin mountains they loved and explored, the cairn marks their lifelong friendship and pioneering achievements. With the dramatic peaks as its backdrop, the monument offers both a place of reflection and a striking viewpoint across Skye’s rugged landscape.

BY CAR
Sligachan Hotel is situated at the crossroads of the A87 and A863, making it an ideal base for exploring the Isle of Skye. It’s just a 15-minute drive from Portree, the island’s largest town, and about 35 minutes from the Skye Bridge.
BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Regular bus services connect Sligachan with key locations across Skye. Scottish Citylink operates frequent buses from Portree’s Somerled Square, with the journey taking around 15 minutes.
FROM THE MAINLAND
If you’re arriving from the Scottish mainland, the Skye Bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh provides direct access to the island via the A87. Alternatively, you can take the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry from Mallaig to Armadale on Skye, followed by a scenic 45-minute drive north to Sligachan.
